Account deletion
How to delete your HaiLa account, in the app, on the site or by email, and what happens to your data.
Who this is for
Anyone with a HaiLa guest account: in the HaiLa app for iPhone and Android, or on haila.md.
If you use HaiLa for restaurants, the account belongs to the venue. We close it together with you, not from the app: see “By email” below.
In the HaiLa app (iPhone and Android)
- Open Profile, then Privacy & data.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Switch on “I understand this cannot be undone”, tap Delete my account again and confirm.
If you signed in a while ago, the app first asks you to sign in again. The account is deleted right away.
On haila.md
Sign in, open Profile, then Privacy & data, then Delete my account. On the site, deleting starts a 30-day wait, described below.
By email
Write from the email address of the account and add the phone number on it, so we know it is yours. We answer within 30 days. Write this way too if you can no longer sign in, or if the account belongs to a restaurant: we first hand the venue’s access to a colleague, then close the account.
What happens
In the app the account is deleted right away. On the site you have 30 days: we send you an email, and if you sign in again within that time and choose “Keep my account”, nothing is deleted. After 30 days it is deleted for good.
Deleted
- Your profile, phone number and sign-in.
- Saved places and lists, stamps and rewards.
- Your dining needs, the photos on your reviews and the notes restaurants kept about you in HaiLa.
- Upcoming bookings are cancelled.
Kept, without your name
- Past bookings, in the restaurant’s records, without your name, phone or email.
- Reviews, without your name.
- Records the law requires a restaurant to keep, such as accounting, anonymised, for as long as the law asks. Backup copies disappear in the normal rotation.
